We are all well aware of the benefits Rose holds for our skin. (Rose hydrosol has hydrating and barrier strengthening properties. Roses are gentle and soothing to the skin, while deeply hydrating and supportive to connective tissue.) What most of us are not aware of is that Rose is a beauty crop that is incredibly vulnerable for forced labor, unfair wages, and unethical treatment. Growers have staged protests against distillery houses demanding fair wages, yet prices for Bulgarian Rose remain low, which points to unethical practices, and unfortunately the Fair Trade organization is not able to keep up. As a company, Laurel Skin is responsible for close to 4 tons of fresh Rose petals per year - (close to 2 cars in weight!) While Laurel has not yet been able to completely free themselves from all of the concerns of the Bulgarian Rose supply, Laurel has been working on cultivating a source for California grown Roses for close to a decade now, and Laurel is finally able to offer it in limited quantity.
While this single-farmed, artisan-distilled Laurel hydrosol is no doubt drastically more expensive than its Bulgarian counterparts, here is what you are buying:
The moral understanding that this is what Rose petal distillations should cost. Laurel is doing their best to shift the industry towards more ethical labor standards, and this is a part of that.
Quality and potency. The essential oil has not been removed from this distillation. 1 drop of Rose essential oil contains 60 roses, and is valued close to $40 per ml. This hydrosol will be richer, more moisturizing and hydrating than any Rose hydrosol you have ever used.

Application
Shake product well with each use and mist directly and generously onto clean skin, prior to a Serum or Balm.
Store this product in a cool, dry and dark place. Use within 6 months of opening and within 12 months of the manufacture date, which is noted on the bottom of the bottle.
